St Margaret Mary’s visions of you brought her great suffering. Her sisters and superiors were saddened and exasperated by her. Doctors found her silly and attention-seeking. One even told her that if she ate properly these visions would go away.
Help me, when I speak out and speak the truth to defend you, to have the courage she had, even in the face of people who laugh at me. But let me also speak with care and love, remembering your love and care for all people.
“Lord Jesus, let my heart never rest until it finds you who are its centre, its love and its happiness.
By the wound in your heart, pardon the sins I have committed whether out of malice or evil desires.
Place my weak heart in your divine heart, continually under your protection and guidance, so that I may persevere in doing good and in fleeing evil until my last breath. Amen”
(St Margaret Mary)
I ask you especially for [here name your intention].
Our Father – Hail Mary – Glory Be
My God, I offer you all my prayers, works, joys and sufferings in union with the Sacred Heart of Jesus, for the intentions for which he pleads and offers himself in the holy sacrifice of the Mass, in thanksgiving for your favours, in reparation for my sins, and in humble supplication for my temporal and eternal welfare, for the needs of our holy Mother the Church, for the conversion of sinners, and for the relief of the poor souls in purgatory.
Now pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart (optional)

The Church encourages us to ask for the intercession of the saints, to locate our prayer within the annual round of the Church’s year, and to make our prayer in the tradition of the great figures of Scripture. The novenas in this beautifully bound collection, A Book of Novenas, help us to pray in all of these ways. It contains a rich selection for many different needs and intentions, including popular novenas to our Lady and the Holy Spirit.
